About HomeBuyers Alliance
A nonprofit built around one idea: the information should be free.
Our Mission
HomeBuyers Alliance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on the housing-related obstacles facing homeowners and homebuyers β and on making the information needed to clear them free to everyone.
Housing problems rarely announce themselves as housing problems. They show up as a collection account nobody can explain, a zoning rule that seems to forbid the obvious solution, or a prescription bill that quietly becomes the reason rent was late. We work on the specific, unglamorous obstacles that sit between people and a stable place to live.
We do not sell anything. We do not take a fee from anyone we help, we do not accept payment for referrals, and we do not perform any service on anyone's behalf. What we do is research, write, and give away the things that are ordinarily sold to people who can least afford them.
Housing Education
Free, plain-language guidance on the barriers to owning and keeping a home.
Community Programs
ADU guidance, prescription savings, and credit education under one nonprofit roof.
Accessible Support
No accounts, no gating, no upsell. If you never contact us, we have still succeeded.
Why we added credit education
The single most common reason a would-be buyer cannot get a mortgage is not income and it is not the down payment. It is a credit file they have never seen, containing entries they cannot interpret, governed by rules nobody explained.
Meanwhile, a whole industry exists to charge those same people monthly fees for letters they could have written themselves β often promising outcomes that federal law does not allow anyone to deliver. The Fair Credit Reporting Act gives every consumer the right to dispute inaccurate information directly, for free. Very few people know what that process really does, and even fewer know what it cannot do.
So we wrote it down. All of it, including the parts that are inconvenient β that accurate negative information cannot be removed by anyone, that no one can promise a score change, and that a badly timed dispute can stall the very mortgage you were trying to qualify for.
How we are funded
Donations from individuals, and nothing else. We accept no advertising, no sponsored content, no affiliate commissions, and no referral payments from anyone. Nothing on this site is a route to a paid service, and no company pays us for anyone who reads it.
